State Farm was founded in 1922 as a mutual automobile insurance company owned by its policyholders. They currently employ approximately 67,000 employees and have 17,000 agents servicing 77 million policies. They currently insure about 40 million vehicles.

State Farm has recently expanded into the financial services market, providing mutual funds and banking services.
