Nationwise Mutual Insurance Company & Affiliated Companies (NYSE: NFS) is a group of large insurance and financial services companies based in Ohio. Nationwide has over 50 subsidiaries comprising property and casualty insurance (which includes homeowners insurance, auto insurance and fire insurance), life insurance and financial services including investing and retirement services.

In 1925, the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation incorporated the Farm Bureau Mutual Automobile Insurance Company to provide auto insurance to Ohio farmers. They continued to grow and spread throughout the United States. In 1955, Farm Bureau Mutual changed its name to Nationwide Insurance. They currently provide insurance in 44 states and have over 36,000 employees.
